Pappy Van Poodle

Pappy Van Poodle is a character from the game Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, which is a Super Mario game by at least one definition (likely the same one that includes The Legend of Zelda). He is a businessman who is a close friend and old mentor of Rusty Slugger, and has been for over 90 dog years. He is the biggest fan and supporter of the "Rusty's Sluggers" baseball team, and once threw out his back cheering. He has helped Rusty's shop through hard times, including his strange habit of discovering just the thing Rusty needs when no-one else will give it to him. In the Japanese version, he is instead Inuzō Toipū.
